7 DIY Home Remedies for Unwanted Hair Removal

  1. Raw papaya.

Its main properties are skin exfoliation and hair removal, but it also contains papain, an enzyme that breaks the hair and prevents its growth in excess.

Remedy: a) Peel and slice one raw papaya and grind it. Mix ½ tbsp. of the resulting paste with ½ teaspoon of turmeric. Apply it and massage the area for about 20 minutes and wash with warm water. Repeat the process twice a week.

b) Combine in a bowl ¼ tbsp. of papaya powder, ¼ tbsp. of turmeric powder, ¼ gram flour. 4 tbsp. of Aloe Vera gel. 2 tbsp. of mustard oil and 2 drops of essential oil at your choice. Apply the mixture on the area with unwanted hair, in the opposite direction of its growth and wait for about 20 minutes. Remove the paste with a dry towel, rubbing in the same direction you applied it. After washing the skin, moisturize, repeating the process several times every week.

2. Chickpea flour

Remedy: Mix in a bowl ½ cup of chickpea flour, 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of fresh cream and ½ cup of milk. You should obtain a paste that you need to apply on the skin, spreading it in the direction of hair growth. Wait up to 40 minutes, then rub with your fingers in the opposite direction of hair growth. Cleanse with warm water, repeating the process as often as you can.

3. Turmeric

It is a very good anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory factor, offering the skin health and cleanliness.

Remedy: a) Make a paste from turmeric powder and rosewater or milk and apply it on the affected area, leaving for about 30 minutes to dry. Be aware that this remedy works well for the areas with less hair. If the hair is thicker, you can add some rice flour, gram flour or yogurt.

b) Combine equal parts of sesame oil, turmeric powder and whole wheat flour. The resulted paste must be applied on the unwanted hair, waiting for about 30 minutes. Afterwards, scrub and wash gently. Repeat the process weekly.

4. Egg mask for facial hair

Due to its stickiness, you must be very careful when you remove the egg white mask, because you may harm your skin tissue.

Remedy: Mix the white of an egg with 1 tbsp. of sugar and ½ tbsp. of corn flour. Spread the mixture on your face, leaving it to dry for up to 20 minutes, then peel it slowly. Repeat the procedure several times a week.

5. Sugar and lemon

Sugar is an excellent exfoliant, while lemon juice has astringent and bleaching properties.

Remedy: Prepare a mixture by using 2 tbsp. of sugar, 2tbsp. of lemon juice and 10 tbsp. of water. Spread it on your face in the direction of hair growth and wait for about 20 minutes before washing with warm water. Repeat the remedy twice a week.

6. White pepper & camphor for legs

The two ingredients create a burning sensation when applied on a sensitive skin. Therefore it is recommended to avoid their combination with kerosene, due to its inflammable condition.

Remedy: Combine 2 tbsp. of camphor, 2 tbsp. of white pepper which you have ground before and several drops of almond oil. Apply the mask on your legs and leave it on for up to 20 minutes, then wash gently. Repeat the procedure every time you need to remove unwanted hair.

7. Potato & lentil

Potato has bleaching properties, but when combined with lentil these are intensified.

Remedy: A night before actually preparing the remedy, soak yellow lentils in water. The next day grind and mix them with the juice of a potato (which was obtained by peeling, mashing and sieving), 1 tbsp. of honey and 4 tbsp. of lemon juice. Apply the mask on the affected area and leave it on 15-20 minutes. Once the mask has dried, rub it off with your fingers and clean the area with warm water.
