Elbows are a sensitive area which, if not taken care of properly, can be easily harmed. Therefore we present you a series of remedies that you can prepare at home in order to moisturize the skin.

  1. ELBOWS

Sugar

Mix ¼ cup of brown sugar with 1.8 cup of olive oil. Massage the mixture on the affected area and wash after half an hour.

Crisco

Every night before going to sleep, rub some Crisco patches and slide on a pair of socks, which will protect the skin.

Lemon salt

Prepare a scrub from the juice of two lemons and salt. Apply on the skin and scrub gently, removing the dead skin. Then, place your elbows on the wedges of the lemons for about 10 minutes. Repeat the treatment daily.

Lemon Scrub

Combine lemon juice with baking soda in order to obtain a paste that you need to apply on the affected area. Rub gently for about 15 minutes, then wash and apply a moisture in order to moisturize the skin.

Rehydrating soaks

Exfoliate the skin with a loofah or scrub and soak your elbows in lukewarm water for about 10 minutes. Afterwards, apply Vaseline in order to hydrate your skin.

Basic maintenance

In order to have a healthy skin, you need to exfoliate it daily, then apply honey, moisturizer or petroleum jelly. Leave the solution for several minutes to deepen, then wash the area.

Tip: After applying the moisturizer, you can cover your elbows with a two open ends sock or a plastic wrap, in order to protect the skin from further damage. For positive results, you should repeat the treatments regularly.

  1. FEET

During summer our feet need to be comfortable and protected from sweat, therefore we wear strappy sandals or nothing at all. But this may lead to dry patches which can soon become clacks and produce pain.

Remedy: Soak your feet in warm water for about 15 minutes every night before going to bed, then remove the dead skin with a pumice stone. Hydrate the skin with a moisturizer, Crisco lard or petroleum jelly and cover the feet with a pair of clean socks in order to permit the skin to absorb the moisturizer. Wash the next morning.

Remedy2: In a bowl, mix 3 tbsp of coffee grinds, 1 tbsp of cornmeal, 1-2 tbsp of olive oil with 1 tbsp of heavy cream and 1 tbsp of flour, 2 tbsp of lavender EO and 2 drops of tea tree oil. Apply the obtained paste and rub gently with a focus on the affected areas. Clean with warm water, then moisturize your skin.
